May 27, 2011 wildflowers in Lory State Park

To find the Downy Paintedcup (Castilleja sessiliflora), a figwort, go down the western side of the South Valley Loop Trail.

Stickywilly, a member of the madder family,  with a very inconspicuous flower is in bloom on the Well Gulch Trail.  The  whorl of leaves around the square stem is distinctive.

The Silver Lupine, a member of the pea family, as well as the other flowers are all found on the Well Gulch Trail.

James Starwort (Stellaria jamesiana), a member of the pink family:

White-stem Gooseberry (Ribes inerme):

Oregon-grape (Mahonia repens), a member of the barberry family:

Spiderwort (Tradescantia occidentalis):
